The Civil Napok 2023 (Civic Days 2023) event took place in Komárno on 29-30 November and provided a unique opportunity for Hungarian NGOs in Slovakia to meet, inspire and plan together. During the two-day conference, interesting presentations and discussions took place, with the main focus on the networking of civil society organisations.
The first day started with registration and continued with the official opening of Civic Days 2023. Participants heard a presentation on networking by Milán Jánoson, followed by a talk by Éva Pongrácz on the state of the social economy and social entrepreneurship in Slovakia. The morning was closed with a panel discussion in which Róbert Bolyán, Antal Károlyi and Tamás Szőke discussed the issues of funding impact initiatives and organisations.
In the afternoon, we heard about Anna Mária Bartal’s research on youth volunteering in Slovakia. This was followed by a presentation by Krisztina Pöőr-Tóth on social media in the life of non-profit organisations. The day ended with a discussion on civil advocacy.
The second day started with the working groups and continued with the presentation of the results. Participants planned future collaborations together and the conference closed the second day.
Civic Days 2023 was organised by the Round Table of Hungarians in Slovakia, FRDC and the Student Network. The conference was an opportunity to strengthen the links between civil society organisations and to formulate common goals. The participants left inspired and with renewed vigour to continue their work in the field of civil society.
