Central European Urban Resilience Handbook for Best Practices
In this volume created within the framework of the CEURES project, we have collected the best practices of Central Europe on the topic of urban resilience. Our goal was to collect the best practices in the manual, which can serve as a knowledge base for all municipalities from Prague to Warsaw, Bratislava to Budapest. Experts from the four Visegrad countries explored them, summarizing the most important results, the most interesting innovations and the most adaptable methods, grouping the case studies around four main themes. The project sought to find answers and reflect on daily challenges in municipalities, such as the migration crisis, war, the pandemic and the effects of climate change.
How to read the manual?
Each best practice begins with a short summary, which shows which country and which municipality implemented the good practice. In most cases, the summaries deal with the financing method, list the positive results, possible risks and their practical adaptability. We also considered it important to collect information on how the local population was affected, and if there were examples of this, we highlighted them.
